Anti-Abortion Veto Upheld in Senate
On Sept. 18, the senate failed to overturn the president's veto which allows partial abortions. The vote on H.R. 1122 required a two-thirds majority, that is 67 votes to pass. The House had previously overridden the veto in a 296-132 vote early this summer. A vote of "yes" was to override the veto. A "no" vote was to allow partial-birth abortion.
